Good to know

Who is it for?

Backcountry skiers and splitboarders who want a sharp start to the season, from first-timers to experienced tourers. Take one session or all three.

What do I bring?

Your own avalanche safety gear and touring setup. The full list is above. A harness matters for crevasse rescue.

What if the weather is bad?

Conditions change our plans all season. If the planned objective isn't safe or sensible on the day, the guides switch to an alternative and we contact you as soon as we can. Refunds aren't given for weather; your safety comes first.

Where do we meet?

Check in at the Squamish Adventure Centre at 9:00am. The guides head out to the snow from there.

Do I need a waiver?

Yes. Everyone signs the Altus waiver. Anyone under 18 needs a waiver signed by a parent or guardian, and must be accompanied by them. Read the waiver.
